Approval for the Model Before doing any kind of business-related to weights and measuring products, it’s important to get the approval of the Department of Legal Metrology. Import License Only after the model is approved, one can import the products. However, you need to obtain the second level of import license that only a legal Metrology department can provide.

Dealership License Suppose the importer imports the product and the dealer sells the product with the same name. In that case, the latter has to obtain the Dealership License from the Legal metrology Department.

Product Stamping If an individual has access to weight and measuring tools for personal uses that consist of transactions or products, the product must be stamped by the Legal metrology department first.

Proof of the Date of Birth of the applicant
Residential Proof of registered Place of work
Partnership deed for Partnership Firms
Copy of PAN
Copy of GST Registration
Trade License, Incorporation Certificate shop/establishment/municipal (as the case may be)
Affidavit to state that the applicant would abide by the Legal provisions and the directions issued by the Controller
Affidavit to state that applicant had neither been punished by any Court nor is any criminal proceeding pending in any Court.
